The Black Nazarene statue is paraded through downtown Manila. It is also called the Traslacion, or “transfer,” referring to the relocation of the Black Nazarene to Quiapo Church. In 1620, the first confraternity dedicated to the Black Nazarene was established. People watch the procession from their homes as the Black Nazarene statue passes by in Manila.
